Description:
Born from a unique idea this violin was transformed using canvas, acrylic paints,
black hair and yellow feathers. This sculptured painting titled "Flight of the
violin" was created to encourage a sense of musical awareness and embody the passionate
sound of the violin and its magical influence in the world of music history. The
violin can be traced back to the 9th century, with its origin possibly in Asia.
Not less than 450 years were required to bring it to its present form. My inspirational
roots came from Nikolay Rimsky-KorsakovŐs composition titled "Flight of the bumble
bee". So why not a violin in the form of a bumble bee?
The
Process: An
1 10th scale violin was used, first the strings were unwound, the violin front
was pulled apart by the seam and then canvas was glues to the front surface. then
treated. Later the violin was painted, and sealed then hair and feathers were
layered and glossed the the surface. The front was glued back on, then the strings
were restung and small finishes were then completed.
