Luis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk. These musical legends, along with many others took American's muisc to place with no boundaries. Rooted in the Blues, Jazz music set the pace for all the great trends in music today. Before Rap there was Scat and before rock there was ragtime. Before there was Rave, Techo, Club and House music. There was swing, big band and the abstract jazz movement. Jazz music lends it self to be molded into many musical forms.

Jazz music as an expressionistic art form.

In a new effort to deepen the finger prints of jazz in art history, Valentino has begun two new collections. These jazz inspired project's focus is on legendary figures in jazz history. The first collection interprets jazz music in an expressionistic manner on canvas only. While the second collection incorporates musical instruments into a customized sculptured paintings.

Steven Valentino's artistic background is rooted in Sculpture, Special Effects Design, Internet and Graphic Artistry. Living life with the deepest passion and respect for the arts, Valentino began to walk in the creative footsteps of the great American painter Jackson Pollock some years ago. Inspired by Pollock's groundbreaking historical artwork, Valentino moved forward following his own creative path. Armed with nonlinear thought and the chaos theory, he lets his paints flow out along with his emotions to create powerful abstract paintings.

With hope and the power of the positive and negative flow of life's energy, Valentino has opened his mind and relied upon his abilities to create wonderful artistic works from raw human emotion. Each sling of paint creates a thought-provoking work of art that is intended to mark his footprints in the sands of time and art history.

Taking a powerful step forward, Valentino has moved from the medium of clay sculpture to paint on canvas to interpret his artistry. After more than ten years of sculpting, his tools have evolved into mixing cups filled with paint. And, each painting he produces starts with Valentino custom building each wooden frame, hand stretching and treating every piece of canvas, which makes every painting even more personal. He lets his paint and emotions fly creating one-of-a-kind masterworks, each with it's own special personality and appeal.
